Newman L. Bond, Jr.

A native of Pine Grove and resident of Walker, he died at 3:45 p.m. on Monday, August 5, 2013 at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge. He was born September 24, 1951 in Amite and was 61 years of age. He is survived by his wife, Celeste M. Dugas Bond, Walker; 3 daughters, Deanna Lynn Corkern, Coyell, Michell Sellers, Watson and Kisha Ahles, Oxnard, California; son, Patrick Randall Bond, Walker; 6 grandchildren, Grant Ahles, Mia Ahles, Colton Corkern, Mason Corkern, Molly Sellers and Kendall Hudson; 2 sisters, Carolyn Tinnea, Denham Springs and Margaret Birch, Kentwood. He was preceded in death by his parents, Newman L. Bond, Sr. and Faye Bond. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, 110 East Factory Street, Amite, LA 70422, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday and at Shiloh Baptist Church, Montpelier, from 8 a.m. until Religious Services at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2013.
