Jimmy Schwartz continues to feel better than he has in a while. I suppose he is a walking, talking, thankful miracle.

A resident of Kentwood, he died at 4:31 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013 at Hood Memorial Hospital in Amite. He was born August 25, 1943 in Bogalusa and was 69 years of age. He was a retired supervisor from Croft Metals in Fernwood, MS and was currently a Sheriff’s Deputy with the Tangipahoa Parish Prison. He is survived by his step-children, Linda Callihan and her husband, Robert, Gibbie McMillan and his wife, Katera and Glenn McMillan; step-grandchildren, Robbie Lynn Callihan Kirby and her husband, Kevin, Craig Callihan and his wife, Julie, Rachael Rhodes and her husband, Adam, Rebekah McMillan, Wendy Chapman and her husband, Rob and Hunter McMillan; step-great-grandchildren, Lillie, Keelie and Madison Callihan, Dylan and Harper Rhodes and Cade Chapman; brother, Smiley Conerly and his wife, Carol; sister, Frances McKinsie; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Lillie B. Conerly; parents, Watt and Lillie R. Conerly. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 10 a.m. until religious services at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013. Services conducted by Dr. Danny Smith. Interment Spring Creek Cemetery, Spring Creek. Pallbearers will be Lanny Conerly, Larry McDaniel, Harold Fussell, Jimmie Ray Strickland, Martin Williams and Dewayne Creel.
