My young cousin in Texas who had brain cancer has gone through 4 MRIs that show no cancer. The doctors are calling that remission. Thanking God for giving him more time for living.

Velma T. Davidson died at 5:34 a.m. on Monday, April 8, 2013 at Christus St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles. She was born September 14, 1949 in Greensburg and was 63 years of age. She was a resident of Greensburg but has lived with daughter for the last 12 years in Sulphur. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Davidson LeDoux and husband, Travis; grandchildren, Brennen Smith, Alvin Smith, Nichole Turner and Daniel Turner and wife, Zoe; great grandchildren, Hayden Walton, Maddie Weber, Malakiah, Tarrin and Emmy Turner, all of Sulfur; brother, Andrew Travis and wife, Cathy; sisters, Patsy McGuff and husband, James, and Marie Travis; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband, Michael M. Davidson; daughter, Lisa Ann McGuff; parents, Willie and Rose Lea Cutrer Travis and brother, Willie Eugene Travis. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday and from 10 a.m. until religious services at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013.
