Floyce Bracey Houeye Raiford, 83, passed away at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Kentwood Manor Nursing Home, Kentwood. She was a native of Arcola, where she resided with her husband of 48 years, Julius Kent Raiford. She was a retired Home Economics teacher from Amite High School with 29 years of service. She was a lifelong member of Amite-Arcola Presbyterian Church where she also served as Sunday School teacher. She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Pamela Houeye Bankston and son-in-law, Simeon C. Bankston, 2 granddaughters, Tiffany Bankston Currier and husband, Thomas Bradley Currier, and Tabitha Bankston Blades and husband, Jesse Blades, and 3 great-grandchildren, Turner Currier, Tate Currier, and Halle Blades. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Miles William Houeye and 2 brothers, M. L. Bracey and Charles Bracey. Visitation will be at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday and from 8 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012. Interment will follow in Arcola-Roseland Cemetery, Arcola. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Amite-Arcola Presbyterian Church.
