Thursday Evening

Raymond Cade will be using his many years of truck driving skills to drive one of the Mississippi Disaster Relief trucks to NY/NJ in the morning to help feed people affected by Hurricane Sandy.  Thank-you, Raymond and all the other volunteers who give of their time to minister to and witness to others.

 

Peggy Hanks Meadows Stewart

Peggy Hanks Meadows Stewart passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center – Mid City.

Peggy was born in St. Helena Parish on October 24, 1930 to Lawrence Lucas Hanks and Vera Talbert Hanks. She was a graduate of Amite High School.

She is survived by 2 sons, Wayne Meadows and his wife, Debbie, Greensburg and Dennis Stewart, Hammond; a daughter, BeBe Bergeron and her husband, Gregory, Denham Springs; 3 grandchildren, Blake Meadows, Jay Meadows and his wife, Katie, and Julie Meadows; 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jerry Meadows and Pete Stewart; 2 brothers, Sitman and Ancil Hanks; a son, Jay Stewart Meadows; and a granddaughter, Lee Ann Meadows Bass.

Professionally Peggy was an office manager for 33 years for DEMCO. Also, Peggy was a distributor for The Morning Advocate for 43 years. Peggy was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Our hearts are heavy with her passing.

Visitation at Greensburg United Methodist Church from 12 noon until religious services at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 conducted by Rev. Ken Reed. Interment in Greensburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Greensburg United Methodist Church.
