Jimmy Schwartz is home from North Oaks. Pray for him and his family. These past few months have been hard on all of them.
Mrs. Catherine Yarborough said Jewel Kay Y. Cutrer has a small melanoma and will have surgery next Thursday. The doctor told her yesterday that he will be able go take care of it with this surgery. Pray for Jewel Kay and all her family.
Mrs. Kathryn Kuss fell at home and will be seeing a doctor tomorrow. She has a problem with a foot and with her ribs. Pray for a quick and complete recovery for her.
Carol Jean Coneraly said she is now okay after complications from a procedure, but her brother has stage four cancer. Thank God for Carol Jean’s recovery and ask Him to be with the family with the brother’s health issues.
Phillip Ancil Hanks
(September 20, 1924 – September 12, 2012)
Mr. Phillip Ancil Hanks was born on September 20, 1924 and passed away on September 12, 2012 at the age of 87. He was a native and resident of Greensburg. Visitation will be held at Greensburg United Methodist Church on Saturday, September 15, 2012 from 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. to be conducted by Rev. Howard B. Childs and Rev. Ken Reed. Interment at Greensburg Cemetery. He was a fighter pilot in the U. S. Air Force during World War II. He served as the mayor of Greensburg. Ancil served as the Greensburg Postmaster from 1959 until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #264. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Colleen DeLee Hanks; four sons and one daughter, Daryl Hanks and wife, Terri, Jack Hanks and wife, Fancy, Larry Hanks, Terry “Gus” Hanks and wife, Kay, and Vera Ellen “Minnie” Hanks Easley and husband, David; eight grandchildren, Corey Easley and wife, Angel, Caleb Easley, Haley Hanks Conleay and husband, Josh, Colby Hanks and wife, Mirella, Lucas Hanks and fiance, Alexis Sigala, Alannah Hanks and fiance, Jason Newman, Hanna Hanks, Zac Hanks and fiance, Camy McClendon; three great-grandchildren, Taylor Dale Easley, Joshua Wyatt Conleay and Jocelyn Vera Conleay; two brothers and one sister, John Hanks, Shot Hanks and Peggy Stewart; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Lucas Hanks and Vera Talbert Hanks; and a brother, Sitman Hanks. Pallbearers will be Corey and Caleb Easley, Colby and Lucas Hanks, Zac Hanks and Josh Conleay. Ancil enjoyed spending time with his family at Little Beaver Camp and Grand Isle.
