My former student, Cindy Knight Edwards, said her mother, Sue Knight, is better, but the doctors did not determine her problem.  Pray that her problem does not redevelop.  Thank God for this improvement.

T. Gregory Tanner
(June 9, 1945 – September 10, 2012)

A loving husband, Daddy and PopPop won the victory and received the prize of eternal life on Monday September 10th, 2012. A resident of Osyka, MS and native of Baton Rouge, LA, he was 67. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Susan Payne Tanner; 2 daughters, Stephanie and Joe Johnson and Rebecca and Justin Nowell; 1 son, Greg Tanner, Jr; four grandchildren, Hannah and Tanner House and Carrie and Tyler Nowell; 5 sisters, Mary Beth and Don Hey, Katherine and John Davis, Louise and Harold Mason, Amy and Don Matheny, Leah and Doug Morgan; and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Beth Tanner. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 11th 2012 at 3 pm at the Tanner Family Cemetery in Norwood, LA. A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday September 12th at 7 pm at House on the Rock Church, Amite, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to House on the Rock Church. Lorena Rebecca Pierce Clemons
(June 28, 1916 – September 10, 2012)

A resident of Amite, she died at 4:30 a.m. on Monday, September 10, 2012 at Hood Memorial Hospital in Amite. She was born June 28, 1916 in Fountain Hill, AR and was 96 years of age. Visitation at First United Methodist Church, Amite, from 8:30 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m on Friday, September 14, 2012. Services conducted by Rev. Brady Whitton and Rev. Mike Foster.  Leslie “Bond” Riggins
(November 1, 1939 – September 9, 2012)

A resident of Amite, died on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Hood Memorial Hospital in Amite. He was born November 1, 1939 in Memphis, TN and was 72 years of age. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy “A Shellback” and was owner and operator of Hammond Decorating Center for over 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Frances Spitale Riggins, Amite; daughter, Mary Jo Robertson and Daryl, Pine Grove; son, Anthony Riggins and Donna Jo, Amite; 7 grandchildren, April, Amanda and Bryce Robertson, Ryan, Rhett, Rhase Bond and Reagan Riggins; 2 sisters, Linda Brocato and husband, Nick, Amite and Mary Evelyn Craig, Horseshoe Lake, Ark; 2 nieces and a nephew, Monta Dickinson Leto, John “Ski-Bo” Cody and Leslie Vasquez; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; beloved dog, Lilly. Preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Bond Riggins, Sr. and Myrtle Anderson Dreher; brother, Doug Dickinson; niece, Kelly Cody Adams; nephew, Michael Wayne Dickinson. What a day.  The parent of a classmate, the parent of former students, and the parent of church kids all passed away.  My prayers are for each family.
