Saturday Addition

Herbert Arthur Kliesch
(December 5, 1931 – August 30, 2012)

A native of Colorado, and a resident of Kentwood, LA (Greenlaw community) and a former resident of New Orleans, LA, he passed away on Thursday, August 30th 2012, at 8:46 AM at the Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jackson, LA. He was born on December 5, 1931 in Cortez (Elmo Canyon), Colorado and was 81 years of age. He was retired from J. Ray McDermott as an airplane mechanic. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by three sons, Ivan Dwight Kliesch and wife, Montez; Bruce Kliesch and Dan Kliesch and wife, Marta, all of Kentwood. Two grandchildren, Sarah and Sterling Hagan. Three brothers, Harley and wife, Mary Nell Kliesch, Kentwood; Lyle Kliesch, Mountainair, New Mexico; and Phillip Kliesch, Lawton, Oklahoma. Two sisters-in-law, Hettie Jean Kliesch, Gillsburg, MS and Velma Ann Kliesch, Kentwood along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Aileen Hano Kliesch; his parents, Ivan and Lula Holley Kliesch; four brothers, Ray Frank, Paul, Bud and Robert Kliesch, and two sisters, Villia Kliesch and Mae Cutrer and husband, Vernon Cutrer.

Vistation will be held at McKneely Funeral Home in Kentwood from 6 -9 PM on Monday, September 3rd and on Tuesday, Sept 4th , from 10 AM until funeral services beginning at 2 PM at the funeral home. Rev. Milton Kliesch, nephew, will conduct the service. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Kentwood.
