Mrs. Mary Alice Blackwell is in the thoughts of many people for Kentwood. She is loved by many who wish the family, as well as “Miss” Mary Alice, to know prayers are being offered for them, but at the same time, people are trying to respect the family’s privacy. A resident of Spring Creek, she died at 6:40 a.m. on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Hood Memorial Hospital in Amite. She was born July 11, 1909 in Spring Creek and was 102 years of age. She is survived by her daughter, Mardell Forrest and husband, Wayne; 2 sons, John Spears and Douglas Spears and wife, Ann; daughter-in-law, Lynda Hyde Spears; 15 grandchildren, Robert Glenn McNabb and wife, Angie, Benny McNabb and wife, Tanya, Kelly McNabb, Claude Forrest and wife, Elaine, Evelyn Smith, Laura, Jeffrey and Shanna Spears, Sherry Holland and husband, Cliff, Connie Butler and husband, Sid, Vickie Easley and husband, Dean, Leshia Newman Rohrer and husband, Karl, Sheila Spears, Trent Spears and wife, Tara, Clint Spears and wife, Kelly; 30 great-grandchildren, Jessie Montana McNabb, Dillon, Kolby, Taryn and Reagan McNabb.
