  • Floal Bridges Simmons, a longtime resident of Tangipahoa is in the skilled nursing unit at The Retreat adjacent to Belle Maison in Hammond. She has been there since May 8th after spending several hospital and rehab stays due to a fall and a bloodclot in March. She recently had her 85th birthday and has some difficulty remembering people an or names, but f anyone would like to call her she has a phone in her room and the number is 985-419-9322. Also, the address is Floal Simmons, c/o The Retreat, 15704 Medical Arts Plaza, Hammond, La. 70403…..at this time she is in room 126, but that may change. Thanks for your prayers, cards and calls….   • It seems David Allen will be admitted to the hospital.  Continue to pray for David.  The last few weeks have been hard on him and his family. Rm. 2219
  • Pray for Mrs. Jeff (Amy) Tolar who will be admitted to a hospital in Florida for gall bladder surgery.

    (June 27, 1952 – June 2, 2012                                                                                                                                                                          A resident of Kentwood, he died at 12:25 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. He was born June 27, 1952 in Bogalusa and was 59 years of age. Survived by his wife, Janice Hurst Travis, Kentwood; daughter, Tammy Threeton and husband, Billy, Springfield; son, Brandon Travis and wife Janis, Little Rock, AR; mother, Martha Traylor, Kentwood; 5 sisters, Shirley Cooper, Paducah, KY, Faye Carney and husband, Leroy, Kentwood, Ruthie Dykes, Kentwood, Lila Watson and husband, David, Sr., Wilmer and Nell Travis, Paris, TN; 4 brothers, Phillip Dykes, Kentwood, Edward Dykes, Wilmer, Jacky Dykes, Osyka, MS and Jerry Lee Dykes and wife, Cathy, Mt. Hermon; step-brother, Norman Wayne Travis, Roseland; 2 grandchildren; mother-in-law, Vera Hurst, Pontotoc, MS; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members including a special sister-in-law, Kathi Legg. Preceded in death by daddy, Coy Dykes, Jr.; father, Willie Roy Travis; 4 brothers, William Henry Dykes, Tommy Lane Dykes, Carl Ray Dykes and Jimmy Wayne Dykes, Sr.; father-in-law, Jules Hurst.
