Carson Ronnie Bridges, Sr., 70, died April 16, 2012 at his residence in Magnolia.  He was born January 1, 1942 in Independence, LA.  He was the son of Milton A. and Helen Singleton Bridges.  He was a retired offshore derrick worker and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.  He was a graduate of Kentwood High School.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Ron Young; a great-grandson, Jacob Whitehead; a brother, William “Sonny” Bridges and a sister, Ann Gale Shavers.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Delilah Sharkey Bridges of Magnolia;  two daughters and a son-in-law, Rhonda and Rex Conerly of Tylertown and Roslyn Bridges of Huntsville, AL; one son, C. Ronnie Bridges, Jr. of Walker, LA; one sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Doyle Knight of Albany, LA; three grandchildren, James L. Young, Carla Y. Whitehead and husband, Rorey and William Carson Bridges; four great-grandchildren, Jessica Young, Alyssa Young, Kelsey Phelps and Nathan Whitehead and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Thursday at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb from 12noon until services at 2PM with Rev. Troy Bankston officiating.  Burial will be in Tangipahoa cemetery in Tangipahoa, LA.

Pallbearers will be James Alexander, James Young, Clarence Russell, Bryant Thompson, Rorey Whitehead and Wilvie Cox.  Honorary pallbearers will be Carlton Rushing, Rex Conerly, Morris Jay Bridges and Bubba Rimes.
