Fredrick A. “Fred” Porter was born October 1, 1942 and passed away at 4:50 a.m., Monday, February 27, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was 69, a native and resident of Hammond, LA. Fred served our country in the USAF.

He is survived by his wife, Shelia S. Porter; 3 children, Shasta Anthony and husband Jason, Darrell Anthony & Veronica Anthony and fiancé Kevin; 6 grandchildren, Dalton Hutchinson, Alyssa Hutchinson, Natalie Hutchinson, Sarah Anthony, Steven Anthony & Ellie Anthony; sister, Shirley Porter; mother-in-law, Mary Thames; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Jesse and Diane Chapman & Frank & Kim Shaffett.

Preceded in death by his parents, David & Gilda Morgan Porter; 2 brothers, Richard Porter & Larry Porter; sister, Kylne Porter.

Visitation at McKneely and Vaughn Funeral Home, Amite, on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until Celebration of Life Services at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home Chapel with Rev. Jim Carlisle officiating. Interment in Spring Creek Cemetery, Kentwood, LA.
