A resident of Amite, she died at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. She was born October 20, 1922 in Hammond and was 89 years of age. She is survived by her son, Mark Lewis and his wife, Marsha Murrell Lewis, Watson; granddaughter, Tracy Lewis; great-grandson, Ashton Lewis; sister, Gladys Harper, Hammond; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Wise and Zora Compton White; 2 brothers, Jim and Ogden White; 3 sisters, Lillian Landry, Zelda DeHann and Opal Bauerer.
