Johnny L. Carney was born May 11, 1965 and passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at his residence. He was 46, a native of Kentwood and resident of Tunica. Johnny was a Retired Master Sgt. Correctional Officer at Louisiana State Penitentiary, Angola, LA. Johnny is survived by his wife, Alana Courtney Carney, Tunica; daughter, Kristine Deanna Carney Periou and husband Blake, Arnaudville; mother, Eva Carney, Tunica; granddaughter, Jordan Lynn Periou, Arnaudville; brother, Wallace Carney, Jr. and wife Nancy, Tunica; 2 sisters, Ann Carney Lane and husband Mike, Amite & Denise Carney Lemoine and husband Donald, Tunica; 5 sisters-in-law, Marjorie Seal and husband Jimmy, Amite, Brenda Pousson and husband Michael, Sulphur, Hazel Drotleff and husband Andy, DeFuniak Springs, FL, Evelyn Vaughn and husband Donald, Dothan, AL & Jo Ann Courtney, Ark; personal friend, Allen C. Gintz, Marksville; numerous nieces, nephews & extended family. Preceded in death by his father, Wallace B. Carney, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Alex B. & Lillie Ballard Carney; maternal grandparents, Charles T. and Eva T. Jones; aunt, Lois Lilly; uncle Buddy Lilly; brother-in-law, Gene Courtney.
