Mrs. Shirley P. Blades Mrs. Shirley P. Blades was born on September 30, 1931 and passed away at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Kentwood Manor Nursing Home, Kentwood. She was 79, a native of Tangipahoa Parish and a resident of Kentwood. Mrs. Shirley is survived by 3 daughters, Patricia Smith “Punkin” and husband Donnie, Gulfport, MS, Bonnie McDaniel and husband Buford, Kentwood and Cheryl Guthrie and husband Clem, Kentwood; 2 sons, Jimmie D. “Jim” Brant and wife Dulce, Kentwood and Dickie Roy Blades and wife Trudy, Kentwood; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild. Preceded in death by husband, Chevis Blades; parents, Ashford and Linnie Pierce; 2 brothers, A. B. Pierce, Jr. and Walter “Buddy” Pierce; 2 grandchildren, Cory Guthrie and Lane Bryant. Visitation at McKneely & Vaughn Funeral Home, Amite, on Saturday, June 25, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until Celebration of Life Services at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home Chapel with Rev. Russell Kirkland officiating. Interment in Lewiston Cemetery, Kentwood.
