Wenous Clayton Goings

(October 13, 1922 – May 26, 2011)

A resident of Kentwood, he died at 10:25 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Heritage Healthcare Center in Hammond. He was born October 13, 1922 in Mt. Hermon and was 88 years of age. Mr. Goings was a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II, a member of American Legion and Veteran’s of Foreign Wars. He was a retired iron worker from Nicholls Construction and a member of Masonic Lodge #248 in Kentwood. He is survived by his 4 grandchildren, Stephanie Goings Kliebert and husband, Paul, Clay Goings and wife Lisa, Chris Goings and Tiffany, all of Hammond and Jon Goings and wife, Amanda, Robert; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Frances McLain and husband, Jim, Hammond. Preceded in death by wife, Dixie Melvin Goings; 2 sons, Wenous Clayton Goings, Jr. and Billie Ray Goings; sister, Wilcie Dick; brother, Shelby Goings. Visitation at First Baptist Church, Kentwood, from 9 a.m. until Masonic and Religious Services at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2011. Services conducted by Rev. Joey Miller. Interment Woodland Cemetery, Kentwood.

The family will have lunch at the church following the service.
