A resident of Amite, she died at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. She was born January 18, 1933 in Amite and was 78 years of age. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 9 a.m. until religious services at 12 Noon Tuesday, May 24, 2011. Services conducted by Bro. John Fulda. Interment Amite Cemetery, Amite. Survived by 2 sisters, Sylvia Thompson Misita, Independence, and Dorothy Ann Thompson Bobbitt, Springhill, 2 sons, John Rex Thompson, Amite, and Frank Thompson, Folsom, nieces and nephews, John Michael Misita, Dwayne Misita, Susan Misita Shaw, Andy Misita, Brent Lewis, Vickie Thompson Barnes, Laura Thompson McCurley, and Pat Lautier Lee. Preceded in death by parents, John R. Thompson and, Dorothy Lautier Thompson, niece, Toni Misita Wilson, nephew, Joseph J. Lautier, aunt, Ruth Lautier, uncles, Jay Lautier and Charles Lautier.

Donald Ray Burch
(February 22, 1939 – May 22, 2011)

A resident of Kentwood, died on Sunday, May 22, 2011 near Kentwood. He was born February 22, 1939 in Bluff Creek, LA and was 72 years of age. He was a U. S. Army Veteran, a member of New Zion Baptist Church and a self employed contractor and farmer. His survivors include his 3 daughters, Missy Peroyea and her husband, Chip, Zachary, Suzanne Burch Travis, Kentwood and Elizabeth Thornton and her husband, Damien, Zachary; son, Donald Ray “Donny” Burch, Jr.; the mother of his children, Margaret Burch, Kentwood; 5 grandchildren, Erin and Charles Peroyea, Lewis and Landon Travis and Avery Thornton; 2 brothers, John “Jack” Burch, Sr., Kentwood and James “Sonny” Burch, Denham Springs; 6 sisters, Carolyn Easley, Kentwood, Barbara McDaniel, Baton Rouge, Jane Duncan, Kentwood, Grace Williams, Spring Creek, Cheryl Scott, Prairieville and Beverly Blades, Greensburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton Percy Burch and Rena Chaney Burch. Visitation at New Zion Baptist Church, Kentwood, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2011. Services conducted by Rev. Richard Sandberg. Interment New Zion Cemetery, Kentwood.
