A resident of Kentwood, he died at 12:28 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at his home. He was born July 21, 1919 in Kentwood and was 91 years of age. Mr. Cutrer was a U. S. Army Veteran of WWII having received Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 3 bronze service stars, World War II Victory Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge 1st Award, Honorable Service Lapel Button WWII, Expert Badge with Carbine Bar, and Parachutist Badge – Basic. Visitation at Spring Creek Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until religious services at 2 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2011. Services conducted by Dr. Danny Smith. Interment Spring Creek Cemetery, Spring Creek. Survived by 2 sons, David Cutrer and his wife, Mary, and Randy Cutrer and his wife, Allyce, daughter, Pamela Smith and her husband, Rusty, 3 grandsons, Marshall Smith and his wife, Joni, Michael Dakota Smith, and Jarrett Cutrer, 1 great-grandson, Colin Smith, Preceded in death by, wife, Mae Kliesch Cutrer, son, Michael Eugene Cutrer, parents, Roy Cutrer, Sr. and Arie Ricks Cutrer, 6 brothers, Monroe Cutrer, Winston Cutrer, Roy Cutrer, Jr., Walter Cutrer, Willard Cutrer, and Milton Cutrer, 3 sisters, Joyce Crowe, Dorothy Giordano, and Dewila Carbo. (January 20, 1932 – April 6, 2011) She was born January 20, 1932, was a native of Dodson, LA and a resident of Loranger, LA. She passed away April 6, 2011. She was married to Harvey Neal on June 28, 1950. Mrs. Neal is survived by her sister, Mary E. Pier, her daughters, Linda Diane Ferguson, Virena “Rena” Bethel and son-in-law, Ed Bethel, and Rose Johnson and son-in-law, Roger Johnson, her son, Lynel Neal and daughter-in-law, Joanette Neal, her daughter-in-law, Wendy Neal, 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Neal, her son, Warren “Tuffy” Neal, her mother, Tressie Jenkins, her father, Howard Hicks, her sister, Winifred “Wimpy” Jennings, her brother, Sonny Hicks, and great-granddaughter, Patience Wallace. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 9 a.m. until religious services at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2011. Services conducted by Rev. John Deschner.
