“So Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly, both men and women and all who could understand what they heard . . . all the people stood. And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God,” (Nehemiah 8:2a, 5b-6a, ESV).
Dear Intercessors, this is Eleanor Witcher of the Office of Global Prayer Strategy, encouraging you to pray for small group Bible studies.
A nicely dressed man in Macau, was intently reading through a copy of God’s Word that he had just received from a group of visiting believers. The man admitted to being addicted to gambling. The problem was so bad that his wife and child had left him. He thought of suicide, but then he received the Word. It is understood that he prayed to receive Christ and was given contact information of local believers, but it is unclear what happened to him, because he only had a few more days left in Macau before returning to his home country.
Several times the Eastern Hungary team has asked for prayer for the city of Nadudvar, especially that they would be able to start a Bible study there. Praise the Lord: During a recent concert held by volunteers, some people expressed an interest. Due to cultural restraints, however, they are not open to meeting in a private home. Please pray that the team will be able to find a suitable place for the new small group to meet.
There are 10 small groups in Sunshine City, China which are not only sustaining themselves, but they are also growing in numbers. Pray for the new participants to catch the vision and be a part of rapid growth.
Team Ufa is rejoicing that 32 Bible study groups have appeared in and around Ufa since late summer of 2009. Pray that these groups will all give more attention and energy to making reproducing disciples.
* Please pray that wherever the new believer from Macau goes, he will actively pursue Christian fellowship.
* Intercede for these new Bible study groups as they seek adequate space for growth.
* Bless the LORD, the great God, for the power of His Word.
Thanks for praying today. Find some private time for Bible study and meditation.
