Aline Strickland Garner

(May 31, 1928 – January 29, 2011)

A resident of Pride, she died at 5:20 a.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at her home. She was born May 31, 1928 in Kentwood, was 82 years of age and a member of Galilee Baptist Church in Zachary. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Saundra Roper, Tallahassee, FL and Elizabeth Rossman, Greenwell Springs; 2 sons, Phillips Garner, Jr., Central and Mark Garner, Central; 1 sister, Edith Caillouet, Houma; 1 brother, Vernon Strickland, Baton Rouge; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillips Garner, Sr.; parents, James and Janie Venable Strickland; brother, Wilbur Strickland. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday and from 10 a.m. until religious services at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 31, 2011. Services conducted by Rev. Ron Lowery. Interment Woodland Cemetery, Kentwood.
