Wall McKneely told me “Miss” Sadie’s obituary was modified this morning.  Here is the new one:

Mrs. Bethsadie Hughes Hilbun, a sweet lady who was loved by all that knew her, was born May 9, 1916 to Etta and Henry Clay Hughes. and passed away at 11:30 a.m., Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Hood Memorial Hospital, Amite. She was 94, a native of Gillsburg, MS and resident of Kentwood Manor Nursing Home who spent her entire life in Kentwood.

Bunny, a nickname, was an active member of Kentwood First Baptist Church. Bunny loved the church and was willing to work anywhere they needed her. She was a member of the senior choir, worked in Vacation Bible School and loved to go on the senior trips. She was a regular visitor to the nursing home helping and visiting where she could.

She was willing to help others in any way she could sometimes driving them to the doctor, going to the grocery store, sitting with a sick person or just anything they needed.

She will be greatly missed by her family.

Mrs. Bethsadie is survived by 4 nieces, Mildred Miller and husband Ray, Kentwood, of whom she was extremely close to; Sue White, McComb, MS, Burma Carpenter and husband Walter, Gillsburg, MS. & Joanie Lawson, Gillsburg, MS.; nephew, Max Lawson and wife Kay, Gillsburg, MS.; Bunny always referred to Rusty Miller, Toby Miller and Michelle Newsom as her grandchildren and Parker, Brodie, Colten, Maddox, Ripken, and Bailey as her great grandchildren; also survived by numerous great nieces, nephews and extended family.

Preceded in death by husband Herbert Lee Hilbun; 5 sisters & 3 brothers.

Graveside Celebration of Life Service will be on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Woodland Cemetery, Kentwood, with Rev. Joey Miller officiating.

Daniel Edwards Brabham, 69, a native of Greensburg and resident of Prairieville, passed away Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, in Baton Rouge. Survived by his wife, Tricou “Bunny” Brabham, of Prairieville.
