Mr. Joseph M. “Tip Top” Currier was born October 20, 1920 and passed away at 9:40 p.m. Friday October 29, 2010 at Hood Memorial Hospital, Amite. Mr. Tip Top was 90, a native and resident of Amite.
Mr. Tip Top is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mrs. Frances D. Currier, Amite; 3 sons, Mike Currier and wife, Rowanna, Amite, Denny Currier, Baton Rouge and Francis Currier, Amite; 2 granddaughters, Nikole C. Cezus and husband, Steve, Marina Del Ray, CA and Desiree Currier, Washington D.C.; great granddaughter, Lira Cezus; brother, Richard “Radar” Currier and wife, Alice, Amite; also numerous extended family.
Preceded in death by parents, Sam and Rose Magliolo Currier; son, Gerald Currier; 3 brothers, Charlie Sam Currier, Sal Currier and Emile Currier.
Mr. Tip Top was a lifelong member of St. Helena Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 10911, Amite Kiwanis Club, Amite Fire Department and an Amite City Councilman for 14 years. He served our country in the US Navy during WWII and owned & operated Tip Top Body Shop with his brother Richard.
Visitation at St. Helena Catholic Church, Amite, on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon with Fr. Joe Camillere officiating. Interment at Amite Memorial Gardens, Amite.
