Joe Brent

Please keep my brother, Joe Brent of Nashville, in your prayers. The Dr.’s don’t think he has very long. He was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma on 8/5 and it had already metastisized to the brain. He and his wife Maybelle were long time residents of Baton Rouge, where his wife served for 40+ years as secretary at Southside Baptist Church.   (Mary Criswell)

Maxine Faller Selman died Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, at her home in Denham Springs. She was 79 and a retired elementary schoolteacher. Visiting at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Tuesday, Sept. 21, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. in the chapel, conducted by the Rev. Richard Davis. Burial in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery. Survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Lynda and Scott Ingram, Cynthia and Durwin Walker and Coralee and Richard Davis; nine grandchildren, Patrick Walker, Andrew Ingram, Dalton Davis, Matthew Walker, Jarred Davis, Brian Ingram, Adrian Davis, Kathryn Walker Martin and Douglas Walker; four great-grandchildren, Alonna Ingram, Olivia Martin, Wyatt Ingram and Caroline Martin; siblings and spouses, Dorothy and Chester Achord, Perry Holder, Carlton Faller and James and Mimi Faller; and special friends, John Yarwood, Eloise Craver and Josephine Schultz. Pallbearers will be Patrick Walker, Andrew Ingram, Dalton Davis, Matthew Walker, Jarred Davis, Brian Ingram and Douglas Walker. Honorary pallbearers are Adrian Davis and Kathryn Walker Martin. Preceded in death by her parents, Clenny and Myrtis Hebert Faller; and husband, Raymond Selman. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, a teacher’s sorority.
