The date of the services for Mrs. Josephine Brumfield were omitted.  Here is the corrected obituary.

Josephine Harvey Brumfield — known to her friends as Phinie; known to her grandchildren as Mer’Phinie, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the age of 101.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother as well as a well known artist, she will be missed by all. She was a life long resident of Amite and member of the Amite Art Club as well as the Stem and Stamen Garden Club.

MerPhinie was born on October 22, 1908 in Tylertown, Mississippi. She was married to Welton H. Brumfield, Sr. and had three children – namely Sara Frances Brumfield; Welton H. Brumfield, Jr. and Claude H. “Hank” Brumfield, Sr.

She is survived by five grandchildren, Gregory Welton Brumfield and wife, Nicole, Amite; Sara Frances Brumfield, Amite; Barbara Rene Brumfield Davis and husband, David, Amite; Rebecca “Becki” Brumfield Biandolillo and husband, Mike, Amite and Bryan Keith Brumfield and wife, Jan, Fluker.

Nine great grandsons — Brandon Andrews and wife, Jessica; Jared Richardson; Grant Richardson; Gray Richardson and wife, Donna; Grayson Brumfield; Brent Davis; Caleb Brumfield; Bradley Brumfield and Blake Brumfield.

Twelve great grand Daughters, Gretchen Ockman and husband, Michael; Lindsey Jo Brumfield; Brandy Kay Andrews Bel and husband, Geoff; Blair Reid; Kristi Brumfield Hyde and husband, John; Chelsea Brumfield Baugh; Ashley Brumfield; Marlyn Davis; Lauren Brumfield; Sydni Biandolillo; Ali Brumfield and Alexis Biandolillo.

Eleven great great grandchildren, Kelsey Ockman; Keegan Ockman; Kelton Baugh; A J Hyde; Brooke Hyde; Graysen Richardson; Masen Richardson; Avery Andrews; Kahne Andrews; Alayna Bel and Katelyn Bel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Welton H. Brumfield, Sr; parents, James H. Harvey and Fannie Lou Harvey; sisters, Florence Elizabeth Harvey; Jennie Swayze Harvey; Frances Louise Harvey; a brother, James Edwin Harvey; a daughter, Sara Frances Brumfield; two sons and daughters-in-law, Welton H. Brumfield, Jr. and wife, Edna Jacquelyn “Jackie” and Claude H. “Hank” Brumfield, Sr. and wife, Eleanor Evelyn “Cricket; two grandchildren Lauri Brumfield Richardson and Claude H. Brumfield, Jr.

Visitation will be at the First United Methodist Church, 800 N. Duncan Avenue, Amite, on Monday, September 13, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until Celebration of Life Services at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Brady Whitton, officiating. Interment will be at Amite Memorial Gardens.

The family requests donations be made in Mer’Phnie’s Memory to the First United Methodist Church, 800 N. Duncan Ave., Amite, LA 70422.
