“This means tremendous joy to you, I know,

even though you are temporarily harassed

by all kinds of trials and temptations.

This is no accident—

it happens to prove your faith,

which is infinitely more valuable than gold . . .”

~1 Peter 1:6-7 PH~

Continue to pray for Mr. Harrell Sharkey as he recovers from hip surgery at home and for Mr. Jesse Dean as he also recovers from his recent health issues at home.

We have a number for grieving families in our area.  Please say a prayer for each one.

Continue to pray for all the issues dealing with the oil spill in the gulf.  This has had a tremendous impact on the marshes, the beaches, fishermen, etc.  Pray that those working to find a good clean-up plan will be successful so damage in minimized.  Pray for those who are trying to stop the flow to determine the best plan and to do so without any more loss of life.

Memorial Day: Thank God for all the service men and women who have served our great country and continue to serve at this time.  Thank God for their willingness to give their lives for the freedom and safety of the rest of us.  Thank God for the sacrifices made by families throughout the history of our country.  May God continue to bless America and guide  us to elect individuals who will be follow His leadership in all they do.

“…from these honored dead,

we take increased devotion to that cause

for which they here gave the last full measure of devotion —

that we here highly resolve these dead shall not have died in vain…

~Abraham Lincoln, Gettysburg Address~

May we never forget the men and women who gave their lives for us to have a better life in America!

May we never forget the One who gave His life for our sins so that we might have a home in heaven for eternity!
