Alton Goynes died Thursday, May 13, 2010, at Lane Regional Medical Center, Zachary. He was 75, a native of Roseland and a resident of Zachary. He retired from the East Baton Rouge Parish school system and the city-parish. Visitation at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, Friday, May 14, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation continues at the Church of Latter-day Saints, Pride Ward, Milldale Road in Zachary on Saturday, May 15, from 3 p.m. until service at 4 p.m., conducted by Bishop Darwin Phenald. Interment in the Latter-day Saints Cemetery, Pride. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sally Kelly Goynes; daughter, Lora Goynes Warren and husband Trey Warren, of Baton Rouge; two sons, Scott Goynes, of Houston, and Ross Goynes and wife Stacey Comeaux Goynes, of Pride; sister, Waltrine Miller, of Hattiesburg, Miss.; brother, Harry Goynes, of Arcola; and 10 grandchildren, Karley Goynes, Cory Goynes, Sean Goynes, Logan Goynes, Lesley Goynes, Mason Goynes, Claire Goynes, Loryne Goynes Law, Lindsey Warren and Leyna Warren. Preceded in death by his father, Alton A. Goynes; mother, Eleanor Cier Goynes; son, Kyle Allen Goynes; and grandson, Chase Allen Warren. He received his bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Louisiana University and master’s degree in education from LSU. He was a member of Phi Delta Kappa.

Ivy Keith Forrest
(December 7, 1955 – May 13, 2010)

Ivy Keith Forrest a beloved husband, father, brother, son, grandfather and uncle was born December 7, 1955 and went home to be with the Lord at 7:50 p.m., Thursday, May 13, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his family and friends. Keith was 54, a native of McComb, MS and a resident of Kentwood. He was retired from Louisiana Department of Transportation, a member of the Kentwood Volunteer Fire Department for the past 25 years and a member of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club.

Keith is survived by his wife, Michelle B. Forrest, Kentwood; children, Brock Keith Forrest and wife Heather, and Brianne Lyn Forrest all of Kentwood; grandchildren, Abigayle Forrest, Jaxon Forrest and Madox Forrest all of Kentwood; mother and father, Shirley and Harold Forrest, Kenwood; sisters, Deborah Lofton and husband, Troy, Kentwood, and Cassie Vice and husband, E.J., Kentwood;his beloved pet Boushea; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Keith was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Herman Forrest; paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Pete Fitzwater; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold “Doc” and Evelyn Brock.

Visitation at Spring Creek Baptist Church, Kentwood, Monday May 17, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Danny Smith officiating. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, Kentwood.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to North Oaks Hospice, 15790 Paul Vega MD Dr., Hammond La 70403.
