His first time at church

A young man left his country of Sri Lanka to earn money and help his family back home.  Sri Lanka is a large island nation near India. It is one of the countries that was hit by the huge storm in 2004—the tsunami. Most of the people are Buddhist and don’t know Jesus as Savior.

This young man became a lifeguard at a resort then met some Christians.  He went to their house church meeting—it was the first time he had ever been to church.  The Christians found him a Bible and the JESUS film in his language.

Now we need to pray that he will want to watch the video and read God’s Word.  Pray that he will learn that Jesus can provide for all his needs.

I’VE NEVER READ the sotry of a great man without finding that at one time or another in that man’s life he went through days of hurt, and it was the molding influence of the hurt that made the man what he was…

It’s a great principle for life, it’s the heart of a champion.  Bob Richards, “The
Heart of a Champion,”  42
