Roger Dale Coon, Sr.
(July 24, 1945 – October 10, 2009)

Roger Dale Coon, Sr. was born July 24, 1945 and passed away at 7:45 p.m., Saturday, October 10, 2009 at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. He was 64, a native of Tylertown, MS and a resident of Kentwood and owner of Coon’s Auto Salvage & Wrecker Service since 1963.

Roger is survived by his wife, Marie P. Coon, Kentwood; a daughter, Lisa “Janelle” Pitre and husband, Nolan and their children, Katelyn and Cassie all of Kentwood; 2 sons , Roger “Dale” Coon, Jr. and wife, Stephanie, Kentwood and their children, Justin Carl Coon; Ashley & husband, Shay Robertson and their children, Alleigh & Alyvia: Steven Skipper-Coon and wife, Jennie, Lafayette and their children, Ian, Aiden, Lilam and Lukas; 3 sisters: Tinsey DeBlanc & her husband, George, Kentwood; Penny Cook & husband, Darrell, Kentwood; Norma Jean Gibbs, Ethel; brother, James R. “Buddy” Coon & wife, Kathleen, Kentwood; honorary son, Patrick Sanders and wife, Jeana, Easleyville; employees of Coon’s Auto Salvage & Wrecker Service, Earl Leonard, Claude Brumfield, Darrell Felker, Donnie Self, & John Faller also numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins.

Preceded in death by his parents, James V. & Murial Prine Coon; a grandson, Christopher Dale Coon; long term employee, Otis Elzey, Sr.

Pallbearers are Rodney Pittman, Rowdy Fitzgerald, John Faller, Earl Leonard, Donnie Self, Claude Brumfield, Walter Dykes, & Otis Elzey, Jr.

Visitation will be at First Baptist Church, Kentwood, on Friday, October 16, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until Religious Services at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Joey Miller, Rev. Russell Kirkland and Rev. Clay Spinks officiating. Interment in Coon Family Cemetery, Kentwood.

(May 30, 1918 – October 12, 2009)

Died on Monday, October 12, 2009 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, LA. She was a native of Lepanto, AR and a resident of Kentwood, LA. Age 91 years. Graveside Services will be held at Line Creek Cemetery, Line Creek, LA at 11:00 a.m. Thursday. Services conducted by Rev. Ken Irwin. Interment Line Creek Cemetery, Kentwood, LA. Survived by son, Jerry Clark, Kentwood, daughter, Betty Allen, Kentwood, sister, Goldie Mock, Dexter, MO, 4 grandsons, Clay Clark, Baton Rouge, Clint Clark, Kentwoood, Mike Allen, Nashville, TN, and Curt Allen, Kentwood, 4 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Olivia, and Annaliese Clark, and Zack Allen. Preceded in death by, husband, Lee Clark, parents, Beulah and Lynn Smothers, brother, Lloyd Smothers.
