From the IMB:
MISSIONARY PERSONAL NEEDS. Remember the mother who is pregnant with twins? She has had a roller-coaster pregnancy. First she thought she had miscarried. Then she was having twins and progressing well. However, today she went for an ultrasound and the technician could not hear any heartbeats. Both babies and mother need immediate medical attention. She needs to fly to a neighboring country for her care. Give thanks to the Lord for the worker who is flying with her. Please pray for her and for her family staying behind. Her husband has a visiting team and new team members who arrived the same day!
MISSIONARY PERSONAL NEEDS. Holly Kliesch shares: “I spent three years of my childhood as an MK (missionary kid) in West Africa. Now as I get ready to return to West Africa as an adult, I feel fairly prepared for life there, and I am eager to return. But as the time for my departure draws near, I am beginning to realize what the task before me entails. I gave up a teaching job in one of the best school districts in Mississippi, a great apartment, and a comfortable church to teach four MKs in West Africa. Many people have asked me, ‘Why are you doing this? Why are you giving up your comfortable lifestyle to go to Africa?’ I remind myself and them that God called me to this job, it is His will, and I am doing it for His glory. I have given up some things, but I am gaining so much more. I am privileged to return to West Africa as a former MK and to minister to current MKs. What a blessing! Please pray for me as I transition back into the West African culture and into a new teaching job in January. Previously I taught high school French and now I will be teaching all subjects, from kindergarten to eighth grade. Also pray for my MK students as they transition to a new teacher.”
