Sunday

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him.”

~Romans 15:13 NIV~

Pray for Robbie Lynn C. Kirby as she spends time in the hospital due to strep in her bloodstream.  She seems to go from one problem to two more.  Pray for strength and endurance for her and her family.

Many people are sick with the stomach virus or the flu.  Christmas is not a good time of the year to be sick, but it is always that way for some.  I think there will be more sick people at Christmas this year than usual.

Today’s schedule at Spring Creek Baptist Church

I want to remind our Spring Creek Baptist Church family that tomorrow we will have a different schedule. There will be one morning service after Sunday School. So come at ten and stay for worship at eleven.

Our sanctuary choir and children will be singing in our one morning worship service.

Then beginning at 4:00 p.m. and ending at 5:30 p.m. we will be celebrating the Lord’s Supper. We will have a time of fellowship and then serve the Supper every fifteen minutes. Hope to see you there. This event will take place in our new building.

I hope to see you tomorrow. If you don’t have a church home come visit with us we would love to see you! God bless.

Saturday

“Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests.”

~Luke 2:14~

Dan Turner is doing well.  The chest tube removed fluid and the vent provides oxygen when he needs it.  Pray for the family as this is now two weeks since the accident.  Pray they will not grow weary and they will stay positive concerning Dan’s recovery.

Stella McDaniel Heth lives east of Arcola.  Yesterday, she fell and broke her wrist and her arm.  She had expensive surgery at North Oaks.  Pray for a complete recovery with a minimal amount of pain.

There was a very respectable size group that braved the elements yesterday and walked and prayed for 27 minutes.  Mainly, they were showing their concern for the 27 families of Newtown that lost a family member.  These families will need our prayers for some time.

Thursday Midafternoon

Dan Turner‘s chest tube is in.  All is well, for now!  Keep praying.

As most of our friends already know, our daughter Caroline was diagnosed with leukemia back in July of 2011. The meds that she has to take weaken her immune system and she is very susceptible to every little illness that comes along. She came down with Bronchitis over the weekend and has gotten worse throughout this week. She is currently on the way back to the Childrens Cancer Clinic in Jackson, Ms. with a temp of over 103. Please keep her in your prayers. I pray she will at least be at home on Christmas. Thanks and god bless you all.

Pray for  Caroline to get over this set-back.  Pray for the family to get to spend Christmas together.

Thursday

Correction:  The “Walk 27” at Spring Creek is Friday (tomorrow).  I have conflicting messages on the color – red or green & green or white.  I suppose the safe color for the walk at 7:25 in the morning is green.

Charles Houeye is still hospitalized in Baton Rouge.  There has been no explanation of the seizure.  Charles seems about the same as when he was admitted.

Dan Turner collapsed a lung during a coughing spell.  He has been checked out thoroughly.  There is not a blood clot that caused the problem.  He is now getting a chest tube that will drain fluids and allow the lung to re-expand.  Please continue to pray for Dan, his caregivers, his entire family, his coworkers, and friends.

Mike Smith, brother of Frank Smith who formerly lived in Kentwood, had his surgery and is doing well.  Thanks for remembering Mike and his family in your prayers.

“This will be the sign for you:

You will find a baby wrapped snugly in cloth and lying in a feeding trough.”

~Luke 2:12, HCSB~

Sunday, FBC, Kentwood will have a schedule change for this Sunday.  Sunday School will begin at 9:00 and church at 10:00.  The choir will again present their Christmas musical, which was fantastic!  There will be no P.M. services.

Walk 27 will happen at Spring Creek school this morning at 8:25.  Dana Hendry asked that I remind you to wear red or green.  Walk 27 is a walk in support of Newtown, CT and an opportunity to pray for something like that not to happen in other elementary schools.

Brian Dugas came home from the hospital yesterday.  Thank-you for praying for him.

Johnnie Smith is home from the hospital after having a heart procedure.  He’s very weak.  Pray for strengthening and complete recovery.

Emma Bankston had a good day yesterday visiting with lots of company.  Pray for continued healing.

Robbie Lynn C. Kirby has been running a fever for months.  Doctors have been unable to figure out why this is happening.  Pray for a diagnosis and proper treatment soon.

Dan Turner slept most of the day yesterday because of pain medication.  Pray he has a good day today and continues to improve.

There was a bad wreck on highway 16 west of Amite.  I will not post the name of the person who lost their life yet, but will post the obituary when it becomes available.

Dan Turner in Jackson, MS

From Diane (Dan’s mom) last night

God is SO good! Roy and I just want to join Ladd in communicating our heartfelt thanks for all your prayers being offered for Dan, our son, who was injured in a motorcycle accident ten days ago. Gosh! Has it been ten days? It seems like one continuous day since then. As Ladd has posted, Dan continues to improve, but still has a long way to go. For anyone who doesn’t know, Ladd posts updates regularly. We covet your prayers, and know without a doubt that you all will pray for Dan, and all of us, his family. We have seen evidence of your prayers and have been given strength by them. Thank all of so much.

Emma Brabham had appointment Monday and Tuesday.  The doctors were impressed with how quickly and well she is healing.  Pray for the healing to continue.  Pray for Emma and her family as they wait for more healing.

Pray for the family of Austin Elder as they funeral service today in northwester Arkansas will celebrate his life and his hope.

Today, I’m not going to list all the articles at BPNews.net, I’m just going to tell you the site is worth checking out again today.
