Saturday Evening

I have two good reports to share this evening.  Thank God for His work.

  • Mike Moore
    • Mike is married to Robin Wilson whose dad, Leroy Wilson, grew up in this area.  Mike had surgery a few months ago because of a tumor behind one eye.  The vision in that eye was very limited and only to the side.  This morning, Mike discovered he could see directly in front of him and has been covering his good eye and reading for his family all day.
  • Mrs. Hellen Morris
    • Please let everyone know that my mother is home and doing fine.  The doctor found a small blockage on her right knee but it was in a place where he could not put a stint – so he “roto-rootered” the vein out and got good results.  The other leg had no blockages.  She spent the night Friday night and is very glad to be home.  Thanks, Lauree

Saturday

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion?

Come to me.

Get away with me and you’ll recover your life.

I’ll show you how to take a real rest.

Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it.

Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.”

~Matthew 11:28-29a MSG~

Jadon has now gone seven months without surgery.  Remember how many he was having before surgery?  Remember how hard it was to think of the surgery he was facing?  Be thankful his parents had the strength to do the right (hard) thing and surrender Jadon to the surgeons.  God has surely blessed his little life!

Please continue to pray for Nikki Newell.  She continues to have seizures, even though they are not as frequent as they were at first.

Heart to Heart with Holley: The Surprise

http://holleygerth.com/?s=bible+study

David recently met a man who dedicates his whole Saturday to Bible study and preparation for church the next day.  No, he’s not a preacher!  He a Christian man who strives to learn more from the Word!  How many of us need to be more like him?

“Do your own work well,

and then you will have something to be proud of.

But don’t compare yourself with others.”

~Galatians 6:4 CEV~

Pray for Mrs. Hellen Morris as she has a test on her legs today.

Becky Tanner Nowell’s husband, Justin, had to go to the ER last night because he burned his eyes welding.  Pray his eyes get completely well.

Becky’s grandmother, Mrs. Mildred Payne, is not doing well today.  Keep her and the family in your prayers.

Mrs. Hilda Taylor is a little better.  She may be able to get off the ventilator today.  Keep praying.

If you haven’t already bought your tickets for the Mary Alice Blackwell catfish benefit (catered by Boie), you can get your tickets at FBC, Kentwood.  The benefit will be Tuesday.  Lunches can be picked up at the Brown Morris parking lot.

Your prayers mean so much to so many people.  Keep them coming.
