Heart to Heart with Holley – Mother Letter

Dear Mama,

I may not know what it’s like to hold a baby inside my body. But I know what it’s like to hold a dream in my heart. To feel it grow, stretch and come into the world.

Giving life, mothering, is a miraculous thing.

We as women do so many ways.

However you do, I want to whisper to you today…

You being a mama makes a difference.

Even in the moments when it feels unseen.

Even on the days when it feels like you’re getting it wrong.

Even when you’re ready to catch a plane to Hawaii instead.

The children and dreams you guard and grow are the future. They are the faces of hope, the voices of tomorrow, the loveliness and glory and grit of what is yet to be.

So in case no one has said it lately…Thank you.

For your faithfulness. Your courage. Your obedience.

You are beautiful.

And you make beauty of this life–even on the days you can’t see it.

Love,

Holley – A Heart Mother

Make plans to celebrate the mothers in your life.

Micah Simpson

We took Micah to the doctor in New Orleans (Children’s Hospital) this morning–May 7,2012. His report was really good, the extra rib hasn’t grown and we will go back in 2 years instead of 1 year.

Micah was glad to get out of the doctors office, and said that place gave him the heebie jeebies.

Thanks,
Marty, Gretchen, Micah & Sarabeth Simpson

Heart to Heart with Holley: What your heart needs to hear most today

What are the words you wonder about in the middle of the night, the quiet moments, the carpool line?

What are you afraid to believe but really, really wish you could?

I’m loved,
I really can do this.
I’m chosen for a purpose.

Whatever it is, it’s scandalously true.
Not because you dreamed it up. Or you think it would be nice. Or maybe you’ve finally earned it.

It’s true because the God who spoke the world into being has whispered his heart to you too.

Have a great beginning to the day and the week!
