A resident of Roseland, he died at 12:15 a.m. on Friday, August 16, 2013 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. He was born May 29, 1932 in Roseland and was 81 years of age. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marie Distefano, Roseland; 5 children, Lisa Davis and husband, Lyndon Earl, Amite, James Kelly Distefano, Roseland, Kenneth Wayne Distefano and wife, Angela, Ponchatoula, Linda Baughman and husband, Ricky, Columbia, MS and Jeffery Taylor Distefano, Roseland; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Michael Kelly Distefano, Sr., and Marie Easley Distefano; a brother, Michael Kelly Distefano, Jr. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Monday and from 8 a.m. until 9:40 a.m. on Tuesday.
